1999 Pontiac Grand Am Repair Question

Car running hot
I have a 1999 Pontiac Grand AM and my Anti Freeze is running out of my overflow tube making my car run hot. why would it be doing this?

Does the radiator fan work? Has the thermostat ever been replaced? Another possibility is combustion gases in the coolant. You could have a water pump issue, check for coolant flow, cool engine.
