Hi, I decided to change my oil/ I jacked car up to help the old oil drain out thru oil plug hole./ After draining oil
I decided to get under car and take a plastic straw and stick thru oil drain plug hole to make sure of no thick oil
deposit build up. When I did the straw hit something and you can hear it move or feel something move inside oil pan and can also hear what ever it is drop back in place. Is this normal or should this be of any concern.
Thanks

This is something we would never do, so if you had the oil changed at a shop, you'd be driving right now instead of losing sleep. I suspect you ran into the float on the oil level sensor. To verify that, have a helper watch for a warning light or message on the dash while you poke at the part you're pushing on.

Hi, Thanks for your quick response and answer. I did not lose any sleep over this and have a back up car to drive. I was just curious what part could be moving around in the oil pan and thought it might be the oil pick up tube/ Thanks again for your time and greatly appreciated
