1998 Toyota 4Runner Repair Question
Mileage: 180,000 miles.
Wont start
Answer
If it starts with starting fluid, it means fuel is not getting past the fuel injectors. It could be a faulty fuel pump, fuel injectors which is not likely as the likelyhood of all failing at once is remote, or engine controls such as cam sensors or PCM.

Above links should be helpful.
basics, compression, fuel pressure and spark checks.
from your description, it is a fuel delivery issue. i would start with a fuel pressure test to verify the fuel pump.

I pulled the spark plugs also to check for spark and they give no spark either is that normal
not if it started with starting fluid. it had to have spark to do this.
