When you have a hard shift and delay in reverse that tells me you have a pressure issue in the transmission. The torque convertor solenoid is inside the valve body. Try tighting the connector on the transmission its a 7mm bolt be careful not to over tighten it should just be snug. You need to do a pressure test on the transmission. What is the exact code numbers you have in the computer? Also you could have a loose input shaft nut as well.
