. Counterclockwise. You may have tried this and it didn't work. These things have a habit of self-tightening and sometimes are a real bear to get off.
BTW, if you aren't familiar:
Best to flush/drain when tranny is at operating temp. - HOT!
Use a filter wrench
Refill capacity is -4.2 qts.
