Hand brake light coming on

Recently when in first, my hand break light will come on and sometimes it happens in 2nd. While its on my car seems sluggish and then will just wake up and take off.
it isn't sluggish like my plugs or coil packs would cause, its barely noticable at the moment but I can tell.
Any ideas on what this could be?

-If its actually the park brake lights-inspect/test/adjust the park switch

Also check the brake fluid level. If it's low, don't fill it to the top. There is either a slow leak that must be fixed or the front brake pads are worn and are ready to be replaced.
