1997 Mitsubishi Diamante car losing power

This problem only started this morning. When I'm travelling up hill my car is losing power and a light on my dash comes up or it seems if I go over 60 it wants to cut out.

Have the fuel pressure checked on the vehicle.
When was the last time you had the fuel filter changed?
Is the light you're referring to the "check engine" light? (If so, have a shop to read the codes, write them down and list them here for further assistance).

Is the engine running smooth or rough at idle?
