Volvo won't start

I have a 95 Volvo 850. Having a problem w/my ignition. To start it, you have to manually turn the key back to the III position. Sometimes when you turn the key to start it, you get nothing. About 5 - 15 min. later it will start. It always turned over fine when it would start. It's been 2 days now with no luck starting.

Sounds like we have an issue with the ignition switch. If you are not getting anything from the switch, then I would start by checking the voltage at the starter and work back through the system until you find the voltage.

I am attaching the wiring diagram below but if I am correct then I also attached the process to replace the ignition on this vehicle.

We need to check the voltage through the system because this may not be the switch. It may be the transmission range sensor as well.

Let me know what you find with this, and we can go from there.
