What does it mean when a truck sometimes cuts off while driving?

Sometimes while driving my truck begins to spit and sputter until it finally cuts off. Usually after a short period of time it will crank back up and run fine but eventually the same problem occurs.

Hello,

It sounds like you might have an issue with the crankshaft position sensor.
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is located at the lower right hand side, front of the engine.
When a crank sensor becomes faulty, it can cause intermittent stalling of the engine. Random misfire and no start.
Many times the symptoms appear when the engine is warm.

I have attached the crank sensor diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
