When rear main seal is replaced, was told that gearbox has to be removed?

What else do they remove, that way they can replace other things eg clutch etc, so I won't pay for more labour. Cheers

Transmission and axles rear main seal is just that, on the rest, and is the main seal.

To access the rear main oil seal the transmission is removed as is the fly wheel this seal is located at the rear of the engine on the rear of the crank shaft, if manual you may replace the clutch if it is looking some what worn, also front axle drive shaft seals can also be done if there is any sign of leaking.
