My car had been sitting still for about 4 years. I had a fuel pump installed and the regulars service, oil change, spark plugs, wires, rotor button, etc... performed. The car idles great and revs up with no hesitation or vibration but when driving, it looses power under a load. Almost stalls, like it's lacking fuel or air. When I back off the pedal, it clears up unless I'm going up a hill. I checked the fuel pressure and it holds between 35 and 40 psi.

Do you have a check engine light?

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-hesitates

Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing.

wouldn't several of the items listed in the first response cause the vehicle to idle or reve poorly? This car acts like nothing is wrong until it's under a load.
