1989 Chevrolet Blazer Repair Question

I need to kno how to make the dash work it does not work.. the check engine and brake and seatbelt lights come on though.
The illumination wire behinde the stereo is unplugged could that be why its not working?

What exactly do you mean by the dash isn't working?

i mean the gauges are digital and they do not work the dont light up.. i dont know how much gas i got or how fast im going or anything.. but the seatbelt light and the service engine light do come on..

Check fuses, grounds, and connections.
