I have had my Blazer for a few years and everything was fine until a few months ago. The Mechanic replaced a master cylinder and brake line - needing to drop the fuel tank to do it. When I picked it up a new problem arose. It has problems turning over and would stall intermittently with no rhyme or reason. I had it in again. The mechanic did a computer test - said it was missing on two cylinders. He tuned it up. Replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, and full tune-up. I am still having the same problem a couple thousand dollars later. What is going on? He said he can't figure it out. When it stalls many times all the dash lights will come on, the air bag light being the first light and then beeps - then it will kill altogether. I don't have a problem starting it again. I could stall at a light, or try to stall while I am crusing along on the highway.

I own a 1997 GMC Jimmy and recently replaced the ignition switch when having similar problems. You mentioned that the dash lights come on when it dies. Do the lights go on and off intermitently? Pay attention when you first get in it and turn the key forward to the run position. All the dash lights should instantly come on and you should hear the fuel pump building pressure(whirring noise). A lot of times mine would die when I came to a stop or sometimes just going down the highway but would actually turn itself back on before I got the chance to.
