Rough idol

Changed the spark plugs, wires and distributor cap and rotor, on my 85 towncar, now the car runs worse then it did with the old rusty parts.

Check the sparkplug could be the wrong type and also the gap. Also verify the firing order

Did that, I'm getting two different gap sizes, .044 and.050 which one is correct? Otherwise I'm think it could be the ignition coil?

Gap at.044-You can try and test the primary and secondary resistances of the coil if its within specs
