1985 Ford Ranger Repair Question

My 85 2.3 ford ranger backfires win i hold it at speed
Runs fine win i give it gas then it backfires win i hold it at speed

could be plug or wire bad. could be a failure in the camshaft or a too rich condition. you need to start at basics with making sure the plugs, wires and coil are in good operating order.
