You would need an advance scan tool to look at live data besides checking for codes. First scan for any trouble codes and fault trace those first. Second, look at live data and check rpm when cranking. If no RPM signal it will not start. Check all your connections and make sure you did not pinch anything.

If you installed a reman unit, and it is painted. Drop the transmission down again and clean the mating service. That acts like a ground and needs to be clean. Also clean the paint off where the ground cable attaches too on transmission. A lot of people over look that ground.

When I was at Volvo I told a coworker to make sure he cleaned that bell housing but I told him too late after he installed it. What happened? Crank no start. No RPM signal. After a crank sensor and checking wiring he dropped the transmission again to clean the mating surface. Those all wheel drive XC90's were a lot of fun replacing especially the first couple of ones. It did start after he cleaned it but he was mad at me for a while. Let us know what comes up with the scan and if you had to clean out the paint on the bell housing.
