Im sure its something real simple. Its just im a girl and im unsure of a few things. So heres the deal. I jumped in it one afternoon and it turned over and started but then died shortly after, so I guessed I was out of gas. I go get gas put it in. Still wont start. I put some in the carb. And itll run for a bit then die again. Do I keep puting gas in the carb till it stays running. Or is there something else im missing. Please help. Thanx u

The most likely cause of your problem is a faulty fuel pump.
When you put gas in the carb. You bypass the fuel pump, the engine runs but can't continue because it does not get a steady supply of fuel from the fuel pump (thus the most likely cause is a bad fuel pump).

The factory fuel pump (it is electric) is located under the vehicle near the gas tank.
Also check/the fuel filter to see if it is clogged BEFORE replacing the fuel pump (if the fuel filter is severely clogged, it can cause the same symptoms).

WELL.

.I'M JUST A GUY (A DARN GOOD LOOKIN' ONE AT THAT. WHILE IN THE US ARMY 1ST RANGER BATTALION ('82-'87). KNOWN IN SAVANNAH BY ALL THE GALS AS: "THE BATTALION STALLION". LOL!

WITH 2 JEEPS

THIS HAS A MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP?

YOU SAY IT DOES RUN, WHEN YOU CONTINUE TO ADD GAS IN (A SPRAY BOTTLE WORKS WELL) THE CARB

YEAH. IF YOU RAN OUT, IT COULD TAKE A FEW TRIES TO GET IT FROM THE TANK TO THE CARB

HOW 'BOUT TAKING THE FUEL LINE LOOSE JUST BEFORE THE CARB----ADD HOSE (WHATEVER) DUMP IT IN A JAR (OR WHEREVER). DOES FUEL COME THRU THE LINE AND FILL THE JAR AS YOU TURN THE ENGINE OVER. IF NOT, COULD BE A PLUGGED FUEL FILTER OR A BAD FUEL PUMP

DON'T TRY THIS CRAP IN THE GARAGE OR CLOSE TO THE HOUSE OR NEAR YOUR PRIZED JEEP. THINGS DO HAPPEN. KEEP A SOAKING WET TOWEL HANDY ALONG WITH A WORKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER!

REALLY. BEST TO HAVE THIS STUFF. AND NOT NEED IT, THAN THE OTHER WAY AROUND

KEEP ME POSTED ON PROGRESS.I ALWAYS RESPOND BACK
