Car is making a loud screaming noise and it wont start

Two days ago my car started making a loud scraping/screaming noise and took a couple of times to start. Now, this morning it wont start at all and still making that noise.

Check your oil then have a local mechanic listen to it for a better diagnosis. These kind of noises can be anything. Also check battery for condition including load test most places do for free.

Is sound like it could be the starter or a loose serpentine belt.
