Will not start

When I go to start my car it keeps telling me to hit the brakes but when I do it still will not crank and still saying hit brakes, but I am and it still will not do nothing. But my lights on the dash will light up.

Check the brake lights to see if they are working when brake pedal is depressed. A blown brake light fuse would result in this problem.
