Okay, so, I own the truck listed above 1500 SLT. All of a sudden, the reverse quit working on me it worked fine the time before I was in it, and I have noticed any slipping of any gears of any kind as of late we either. Would there be another reason the reverse would go out besides the whole transmission going to hell? Any other information would be helpful I did also check the transmission fluid which is ATF + 4 and it would read full when it is cold but when I did it in parked in neutral with the truck running it was dry on the stick, I have checked it twice and I've had the same exact result. Full when it is cold and dry when it is hot. Again, any information would be helpful. Thank you

It sounds like the pressure control solenoid has gone out but it is strange the fluid is okay cold and not on the stick when hot, but the PCS could cause this, Lets run the codes first. Here is a guide to help:

Let's check fuse #5 in the fuse panel under the hood which controls the transmission control relay. Here are the wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works and I have included the location of the pressure control solenoid as well so you can check it out.
