Are all butt connectors for car harness wiring shrinkage in the sense if a black 'Teflon' sleeve is applied over with a heat gun?

Good morning,

You can use shrink wrap on a butt connector but only on the ones that seal on both ends after installing.

You need the butt connector with solder in the middle. When you install the wires, you heat up the solder ring in the center and it will solder the wires together. It will also shrink the ends and seal the ends. Then you can use shrink wrap.

I think you are better off soldering the wires together directly and then using shrink wrap to cover it.

I just purchased the butt connectors with solder in the center. Since I had previously purchased butt connectors, I made one connection which is not tight so I wanted to shrink that with 'Teflon' sleeve and do the rest with the butt connectors with the solder in the center.

Why the Teflon?

Can you post some pictures of the ones you have?

I would not use the first ones at all. They are not good connectors.

Solder and shrink wrap are the best way to join the wires.
