I have a 1994 940 and had a new radio installed a few moths ago. The windows started working very sporadically, and I really didn't think much of it at the time. Now, the windows do not work at all from the driver's side remote and only the front passenger side works. Is it possible the guy screwed up the wiring while he was installing the radio?

Thanks

That's the "ever since" syndrome every mechanic fears. "Ever since you changed my oil, the power antenna doesn't work". "Ever since you installed my new tires, I have a water leak inside the car; what you gonna do about it?" It's natural for us to look for someone to blame but in this case the radio has nothing to do with the windows. As proof, if the mechanic did something wrong, why did the windows work at times? It is more likely there are broken and frayed wires between the door hinges. That is the biggest cause of intermittent window operation. You might be able to get a clue by activating the window switches while opening and closing the door. If the window works sporadically, that's the proof you need that the wires need to be repaired. If they don't work, there still could be broken wires but you have to unwrap the harness to tell for sure.

I'll try that. Thanks! I did call the shop that installed my new radio and they said they would take a look.
