I have recently got it back on the road after a year of sitting. I have done the standard repairs myself and got it driving again. But I have realized my A/C does not blow cold air. So I attempted to recharge it myself, but the gauge read high pressure when I attempted to recharge. So I then got it evacuated and recharged at a shop. Still nothing. The clutch is engaging on the compressor and everything seems to be in working order. So I do not know if I need to replace the compressor or if there is something else involved.

Also, I like to add that the A/C clutch always seems to be engaged.

Good evening.

When the AC was recharged, do you know the high and low side pressures?

Is the clutch engaged with the AC on?

When you command heat and cold, can you hear the blend door move inside the car?

When I was recharging the system myself I attached it to the low pressure valve (cap labeled L and was towards the rear of the engine bay), the clutch always seems to be rotating even when the A/C is not turn on, and I got to check the blend door. I have not exactly tried to turn on the heat in 80°plus degrees weather.

Okay so, ran the cars temperature dial from cold to hot and back again. There was a distinct sound while alternating temperatures.

Okay, I still need the pressures both on the high and low side. Want to see what is happening with the system.

When I got the system e-vac done, I noticed the high and low pressure gauges. I do not have exact numbers and currently cannot get to gauges right now. But what I can say was low pressure looked high and high pressure looked moderate.

Okay, when you get the gauges, set them up and give me the exact readings with the A/C running. Then I can give you some ideas of what is happening.

Okay, before I go down to the shop to get hoses hooked up to the car, I looked over my car one more time and noticed something. My car's radiator and coolant fans are not turning on. Could that be the problem?

Yes, it could. If they are not coming on, the engine would overheat especially at idle.

Do you have an overheating issue?

As far as the AC, the system turns the fan on when it gets 150 lbs on the high side of the system. That is why I need the pressures.

I do not believe I have an overheating issue. The car seems to warm up fine. No indication of overheat. I will see if I can get some hoses hooked up to it today.
