Every now and then the CEL (check engine light) comes on, when the codes are scanned it says bad crank sensor. Then two three days later CEL goes out on its own. The truck runs good, but mileage suffers when light is on. Am I missing something or could this be a wiring problem that is weather related? Light will come on in rainy or damp weather.

It may be a bad/poor connection. Try replacing crank sensor and using dielectric grease at connection. Also, check for build up of sludge on crank sensor it can effect it. See picture.
