Smells like burnt oil. Does not smoke when driving just when you start it. Runs and drives fine. Any ideas what would cause this?

Hello,

Usually white smoke is a sign that vehicle is burning coolant. But, as you only have this when your vehicle is cold, it is probably nothing to worry about at all. A modern exhaust system is supposed to turn exhaust gas into carbon dioxide, and water. So as your exhaust is hot what you are seeing is nothing more than steam. As your exhaust system heats up the steam will go away. I hope that this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Alex
