This is the part I ordered. 97154-2Y000 Door Actuator. I ordered it because the maintenance coordinator at the Kia dealership seemed so sure that this is the part I needed.

Hello,

The actuator part number is provided is the mode door actuator. This one controls where the air will blow from (vent on the dash, floor, defrost etc.,). As the blend door actuator control the hot and cold air flow.

This actuator is located behind the dash. It will have to be removed in order to access the part.
Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

Thank you. Yes, that is my issue. I can't control when the air conditioning comes out from the front vents. If it's not coming out, I switch between "Defrost" and "Vent" several times and it may, or may not start coming out of the front vents. As I am sitting in the driver's seat, is the flow control on the left of the console? The picture you sent of the location is not allowing me to enlarge it. Can you send a link? Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, I cannot send a link as it is a protected software, and it does not let me send link.
