When I push the acceleration, the car does not Move

When I push the acceleration, the RPMs just rev up and my car doesn't go anywhere. What could that be?

Hello,

So, are you able to put it in drive or reverse or is it stuck in park?
Is it not engaging when put in drive or reserve?

If it is an engagement issue, it could be due to malfunctioning shift cable for the transmission or a bad neutral safety switch.

It is possible that the shift cable might need to be adjusted to work properly.

I was getting off at the exit and I braked, then when I tried to push the accelerator it would not pick up speed. So, I pulled over the side of the road put the car in park turn the car off waited a little bit, then I turned the car back on put it in drive and it went forward as I pushed acceleration then I got ready to make a right turn and it happened again. I pushed acceleration and it acted like it didn't want to go forward. So, I pulled over again I put it in park I turned the car off waited a bit then I turned the car back on push the acceleration and it went forward. I went to AutoZone they told me that it was my idle air control valve. So, I changed that then I went for a test drive and it happened again push acceleration and it wouldn't drive forward so I went back to AutoZone told him that the problem was still happening they referred me to this mechanic and he told me to check my transmission fluid, and my transmission fluid was low so, I went back to AutoZone got two quarts of transmission fluid put it in the car went for a test drive again and it happened again push acceleration and it wouldn't go forward. So, I went back to the mechanic to ask him if he can take a test drive to see what's going on he hooked it up to a transmission scanner and the scanner said that it was my torque converter.

It does sound like the torque converter is engaging and disengaging.
It could be due to malfunctioning converter, or it could be the clutch solenoid for the torque converter. Faulty solenoid can trigger the engagement and disengagement of the converter.

Either of these issues will require either transmission removal or disassembly.

Did the mechanic tell you what the code number was?

No, he didn't tell me the code, but I bought a new transmission Monday for $870.00. I have this guy that's going to put it in for me. So, hopefully that will solve my problem with the whole transmission thing.

I bought the transmission from SW website, and I hope it does come with a torque converter, but it did come with a one-year plus labor warranty.

Only reason I ask if the issue is the converter, then you might want to replace that as well while the transmission is out of the vehicle.
The clutch solenoid is part of the transmission. You might want to confirm that they will include the converter with the transmission, so there is no surprise for you on your end.

Now I was just looking up a video on YouTube and the torque converter clutch solenoid looks like I could have fixed it myself or do I have to drop the transmission to change them to the torque converter clutch solenoid?

To replace the clutch solenoid, it will require removing the side cover of the transmission case.
Which can be done on the vehicle.
I have attached the procedure of how to remove the cover below for your reference.

Hey, I was looking up torque converter and torque converter clutch solenoid and I found out the symptoms of a bag torque converter and torque converter clutch solenoid aren't the same symptoms that I'm experiencing

If you are already getting a transmission and converter, the transmission will have the solenoid.

Generally speaking, when the torque converter is not engaged the engine can rev up without any movement, like you have experienced.

The solenoid acts as a gate for the flow of the fluid, if the solenoid is bad, it will not allow fluid to pass and that will lower the pressure of the fluid. Which can prevent the transmission from engaging gear.

So, either of them can keep the vehicle from moving.
