I have a 2019 Ford E-450 super duty chassis for my Forest River Forester mobile home. I am trying to install hub caps that can be attached by screwing a part onto the existing wheel studs. Unfortunately, the studs aren't long enough, and I can't effectively screw the part onto the stud. I will be attaching the hub caps to 2 studs on each wheel. I know the rear studs are longer than the front, so could I buy 4 rear studs and use them on the front wheels? I would also need to buy 4 new rear studs that are longer than the standard studs. I need the replacement studs, front and back, to be about 1/2 inch longer than the original studs. Thanks for your help, Cliff

Swapping the rear studs to the front wheels on your 2019 Ford E-450 super duty chassis is not recommended. The front and rear studs are designed differently to accommodate the specific loads and stresses they experience in their respective positions on the vehicle.

Replacing the original studs with longer ones could potentially compromise the structural integrity and safety of the wheel assembly. Longer studs may not be designed to handle the same forces as the original studs, and they may not fit securely in the front hub or interfere with other components, leading to dangerous situations while driving.

Additionally, modifying the vehicle's wheel studs could also void any warranties or insurance coverage related to wheel and tire issues.

Instead, I recommend looking for hub caps or wheel covers that are specifically designed for your Ford E-450 chassis and wheels. There are various hub cap options available in the market that fit the standard wheel studs on your vehicle without requiring modifications. Check with the manufacturer or an authorized Ford dealership for recommended hub cap options that are compatible with your vehicle.

If you're having trouble finding suitable hub caps, consider reaching out to the manufacturer of your Forest River Forester mobile home or a specialized RV parts supplier. They may have specific hub caps designed for your vehicle's chassis and wheels.

Remember, safety is of utmost importance when it comes to vehicle modifications. Always use products and parts that are approved and designed for your vehicle to ensure safe and reliable operation.
