My car started smelling like rotten eggs the electric braking system came on. Then when I got home my car was smoking and liquid was coming from somewhere. I found a black top from something laying on my battery. Now my car won’t start.

Hi Milah,

Did you just have a service done to the vehicle like an oil change? Can you identify the liquid? Is it oil? Can you take a picture of the black top that you found on the battery and post it to this site?

Let me know these questions and I am sure we will figure something out.

I got a oil change like three weeks ago. The liquid looked like water no it’s not oil.

That doesn’t look like a cap that goes on this engine or at least I don’t recognize it. So that means we need to find where all the water came from. Sounds like the engine overheated so we need to find out why.

If it doesn’t start then we need to start with the basics. An engine needs compression fuel and ignition to run. I suspect you have no compression.

I would suggest running a compression test and sending me the numbers and we can go from there.
