I have the car listed above SS. Recently I had an issue with the steering wheel not locking, when I pull the key out there is no click, so the doorbell continues until I close the door. I have to manually unlock and lock the doors. My fob doesn't lock or unlock the car remotely anymore. Other than that, I've never had a problem with my car.
What do I need to buy to fix this?

The lock issue might be separate but let's fix the ignition switch issue first. It sounds like you have an ignition switch/lock that is worn out. You can try spraying WD40 into the clock which might help for a while, here is how to change the part out. If you get the part from the dealer, they will code the lock to the key so no programming will be necessary. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.

This is what happens when I shut my car off and remove the key. The steering wheel doesn’t lock either.

Thanks for the video, it helps. It seems like the BCM is going out which would explain all of these problems, we should do a CAN scan which will help confirm the issue. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Here is how to change the BCM out in case a code comes up for it, you can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I am waiting for the scanner to arrive today and if it is the bcm, I already have a programmed replacement in my cart to be overnighted.

Man forgive me for not updating you. So, I plugged in the reader and cleared some code. It was by mistake though. I got a little confused because I didn’t know what to do next, so I went to the store. Get home and for some reason I jiggle my key around and pull the key out and click! Doorbell goes off, doors unlock and the steering wheel locks. Of course, I did it over and over about 10 times to make sure I wasn’t tripping! I didn’t even do the WD40 you suggested yet. Next day I did it a few more times and it was like nothing happened. This happened right before I was about to order a BCM, I went in my trunk and in my toolbox, I found a brand new BCM still in the box. I guess I’m ready if it happens again thanks to you! I’m definitely going to call on you for anything that comes up and send people your way!
