Water pump was changed hoses changed thermostat changed fresh anti freeze. Gauge reads about 210 ish heater hoses and top house get hot. Bottom just warm, doesn't boil over but seems like it's not circulating. Could the pump be reverse pump? Any ideas? I put water in over flow and anti freeze in radiator. Still straight water in over flow. I don't want to burn this motor up I just put it in my truck.

Hello,

With antifreeze/water combination the boiling point is raised from 212 degrees to around 250 degrees. The opening temperature of your thermostat is 195. If you are really worried about it, drain the coolant again. Remove the thermostat and with a dremel or a drill with a small bit drill a small hole on the side of the thermostat. This hole will
always allow a little bit of coolant to flow. Think of it as a safety hole. When you refill your coolant system undo the top radiator hose from where it comes off the engine at. This should be the highest point of the system. Hold the hose up so it is higher than the rest of the system. Pour your coolant into the system through this hose until it runs out of where it connects to the engine at. Replace the hose and clamp it. Now your cooling system should be free of air pockets and flowing properly.

Thanks,
Alex
