Water in the oil

I have somehow gotten water in the oil and car overheated. Could it have been caused by a bad PCV valve or thermostat or do you think there is another cause? Car sat up for almost a year without being ran. But was in perfect shape before that.

These were famous for blowing the intake gaskets normally at front or back so check for coolant at front/rear of engine. It might be a good idea to pressure test it to see if you have a head gasket problem as well.
