Water and smoke from tail pipe

Heard a pop looked like smoke from under hood, temperature gauge said overheated hot. Last week heater hose popped temperature was hot then car was idling at stop sign. Now water and smoke from tail pipe car does start. What could this be? Help

If the engine was overheated, you may have head gasket damage. What color is the smoke from the exhaust? Is it coolant that is leaking from the exhaust or possible condensation (water)? Take a look through this link and let me know if anything mirrors what you are experiencing. Also, you mentioned it does not start, but there is smoke from the exhaust. Can you explain exactly what is happening.
