VW Codes: P17C500, B109C15?

These are the codes on my mother's car. I can't seem to find much about them online. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

Here are what these codes mean, can I ask what kind of issues are you having?

P17C500 - gear selector / selector lever implausible signal. On VW scan references, P17C5 is tied to the selector lever signal being invalid or not matching what the transmission expects.

B109C15 - air distribution flap motor position sensor open circuit / short to B+. That is an HVAC/climate-control fault, usually involving the mode-door actuator or its feedback circuit.

So these are two different systems with two different repairs. We can work on the first code in this thread but please start a new thread for the second code. For the P17C500 code I would replace the gear range sensor which is a common failure. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes
