So the vehicle I just bought has the wires that go to the VTEC solenoid cut and I don't know what wires went there. Like; what color they were. If I could get an engine wiring diagram for my vehicle that would help a lot and if it’s needed the motor is a d16y5 1.6 vtec-e 4 cylinder out of the car listed above hx. It is a manual but it has running like garbage because the VTEC solenoid isn’t wired up.

Hi,

Do the cut wires appear to have been done purposely? I'm wondering if it was done for a reason.

I attached the wiring schematics below for the entire powertrain management system. The wire colors are indicated. In the first pic, you will find the VTEC solenoid on the top left of the picture.

The schematics were 3 pages long, but I had to cut them in half to make them readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Here is a link you may find helpful as well:

Let me know if this helps, if you have other questions, or if there is something I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe

Well, I think it was done for a reason because the vehicle originally came with a 1.6 VTEC solenoid not the VTEC solenoid-e so the guy who owned it before me did a whole motor swap and an automatic to manual conversion. So I don't know if he forgot to hook it up or if there was a legit reason.

Anything is possible. Hopefully, it was something overlooked.

Regardless, if you have a chance, let me know how things turn out for you. I'm interested in knowing. Also, feel free to let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
