Volvo dealership told me that I had to change my breaks for $780. He told me that I was ok for a month. Can I repair it somewhere else?

Yes you can have your veahicle serviced anywhere you want. I am assuming your rotors have gone under for that price. If you have the brakes done somewhere else find out what type of brake pads they will be using. Stay away from any type of metalic pads. Though they may last a little longer the squeelling will be unbearable and they leave some pretty nasty grooves on the rotors. Same with rotors if you go for some low quality rotors to save a couple of bucks you will get some pulsation so try and get some decent parts. I would recommend ATP brake pads since you can get those a little cheaper then the Volvo. Good luck.
