I had my fuel pupm recall performed. After about 1week, I noticed oil underhood. I had to go out of town and when I returned made an appt to get it looked at. Then started having problems with car not starting. Now I need a new alternator. The dealership stated that the recall part was not installed properly, spraying oil under hood. Could this have caused my alternator to reach replacement?

Yes if oil got into ALT it would cause it to fail. Is ALT oil soaked?

Im not sure. It started showing messages up to have car serviced, but I thought they forgot to reset it since I just had it serviced. Then it said to have brakes checked. As soon as these messages started, I then started having starting problems.

THE FUEL PUMP RECALL HAS TO DO WITH REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP. THE FUEL PUMP IS LOCATED IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, UNDERNEATH THE THIRD ROW SEATS/MIDDLE SEATS; ACCESSIBLE ONLY THROUGH INSIDE OF VEHICLE. I AM NOT SURE HOW AFTER REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP, CAN CAUSE AN OIL LEAK IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR EVEN CAUSE A FAULT WITH THE ALTERNATOR. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER INFO?

No, I don't. They also think the oil issue could be from an old valve? Not working and creating high pressure? Ugh. Not sure! Just trying not to get taken advantage of!

ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT THE PCV? IF THE PCV/BREATHER BOX IS PLUGGED, THIS CAN CREATE OIL LEAKS EVERYWHERE BECAUSE OF TOO MUCH CRANKCASE PRESSURE. IF THE PCV IS IN FACT PLUGGED, THIS IS NOT OUT OF THE NORM. THE PCV SYSTEM SHOULD BE CLEANED WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES A CERTAIN AGE.
