In the past my XC90 has handled great on snow/ice but this winter the back end felt like it was "floating" slightly back and forth on bad roads - as if I had no control of it. We discovered the car was badly out of alignment - purchased new tires and had it aligned. It seems to be driving better but I still notice a little movement in the back end and the steering seems to be very sensitive at this time - I barely move the wheel and the car pulls one direction. Could there be something wrong that continues to cause alignment problems? Do I need to have the steering looked at as well?

Do you still have all wheel drive? You may want to have it raised up and put in drive to make sure all 4 wheels are spinning?

Yes - the All-Wheel Drive was the first thing I had them check. They said it was working fine. Any other ideas?

You could have weak shocks. Have the rear shocks inspected.
