While turning the key to start the engine, the lights flip on, and when moving the key in the start position, we hear a rattle noise taktaktaktak, the engine does not start.

We visually checked the battery and is in bad shape, however all lights inside the car, and the parking lights being on, seem to indicate nothing is wrong with the battery.

Hi BARTDEKEYSER,

Lights and indicators do not utilise a high amperage but cranking the engine results in a high voltage drain. To use the lights as a gauge is definitely not a good and accurate way to determinew trhe battery condition.

You need to check the voltage and high rate discharge to confirm.

From what you described, the battery is bad/weak.
