2003 Volvo S60 blows warm in stop and go traffic

A/C seems to work great when going down the interstate. The moment I get in to stop and go traffic the air feels comsiderably warmer. While leaving the A/C on I deselected the A/C button, leaving the fan on, the temerature of the air doesn't change. However, it I turn everything off for a couple of minutes and get out of stop and go traffic, everything works fine again. Any ideas?

Might be a little low on refrigerant. Has the system ever been checked with pressure gauges to see where it is? Also be sure the cooling fan is running when the vehicle is sitting still with A/C on, this simulates the air going through the condensor like you are driving, which keeps the prssures where they need to be for the A/C to work

A/C compressor clutch is worn out. If you measure the gap spec is 0.3mm - 0.5mm If the gap is greater then that, during stop and go traffic, the temperature rises underneath the hood causing the clutch to release. The clutch is replaceable but you may want to price out both types of repair, clutch replacement or whole compressor? If the savings is a lot go with the clutch.
