Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Volvo C70 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My Volvo has 47K miles on it and is a 2001. The mechanic says I need to replace the timing belt and tensioner. OK I understand that.
But he also says I should replace the water pump and some seals that are currently not leaking, but is prudent to do at this time.
Cost projection timing belt tensioner 550-600
water pump 225 or so
seals 200-250
Seems to me just to do the timing belt and tensioner. What do you think?

Unless water pump is making a noise, not working properly or leaking then it doesn't need replaced. Most likely the seals they are referring to are the seals to the water pump. So again. If they are sealing and not leaking then no need to replace them.
