My wife's car had this problem too. You can try the following too.
We had spilt coffee over the center window console, so we tried cleaning it up. Using a $10 Haynes manual, her father and I opened up the console to expose the 4 window and 2 mirror switches. Then we sprayed electrical cleaner all over it to get the grease and dirt out.
When we put it back, the window went up but it has given us problems again. However: the fact that it works intermittently (and that when it does, it works smoothly in one shot) makes us think it is a switch problem and not something with the motor.
