The lower portion of the timing belt cover seems to be behind the pulleys on the crankshaft. How do I remove it to get to replace the timing belt?
Do you
have the same problem?

You've probably figured it out already given the date of your post BUT
you have to remove the cranshaft entirely. Which means the alternator belt and power steering belt have to come off as well. And you may have to remove the fan just for extra work room.
Not good I know (had to do it myself for the timing belt) but theres no other way
