Last day in 25 below weather I noticed the oil pressure light on. I parked the car and waited to check it later Started up easy, lots of oil on dip stick. Wondering How do I check to determine if it is the oil pump or the sendor or a sensor that is screwing up? Does a 1989 Volvo have a diagnostic check that would determine the problem? I do not want to drive it if there is no oil pressure.

You will have to use a manual oil pressure guage, if the pressure is low then its a pump/oil issue, if pressure is high and fine then the sendingunit/ switch is no longer functional.
