Is the labor to change a $16 belt worth the $240 quoted?

If it is a 1.8T, probably. If it is a 2.0 then no. For a 1.8 you most likely have to take the bumper off and some other stuff off. For the 2.0 then you should be able to get to it, but I think there are 2 belts for that car. If there is or isn't then it is still easier than doing a 1.8. Get a manual.
