Hello,

I have a VW Bora 2000 model, 1.6L with 100,000 km

I took it to the authorized VW shop and they sid I need to replace the Hawk chip?

What is the Hawk chip and is there a place I can buy this from instead of through the dealer?

They also said I need to replace one of the ABS chips.

Help!

well this can't be a US model. And I work on a VW in the last 3 years. But. As far as i'm concern. Cars are cars. Given enuff info. Mechanic should be able to fix it. So lets try. Lets try the easy stuff 1st. Did the dealer chk a code. What is the reason u took ur car to repair to begin with. Msg me and I'll follow up.

You are right, this is a German model.
I took the car to the garage for a standard oil change and tune up. I was also having some problems with the ABS and the ABS light on the dashboard was on.
After they checked the car they mentioned that the Hawk (I dont know if I am spelling this right - a chip that is for the air and fuel mixture?) Chip and the ABS chip needs to be replaced.

The cost of the chips was outrageous and I was wondering if there is a cheaper replacement.

Thanks for your help.
