Ivw cabio 1995 50,000the car has been sitting for a couple of years, now it would not start. I put in a good battery it feel like it going to turn over and start but never does. Radio light work. Also cannot shift in toi gear. Cluch pedal goes all the way to the floor. :(

You have to confirm spark or fuel. Using quick start fluid you can quicking see if the spark works. Then that would mean its the fuel problem. Only the ECU could trick you rarely otherwise. If its a fuel problem its probably the large pump because they all should still idle when the small one goes bad. Maybe your filter is clogged and killed the pumps fast. After cleaning off the filter dry with brake cleaner you should be able to blow through it with nearly no resistance. Even so your large pump could have been impaired. I would probably check the timing though : The rotar should point to number one spark plug wire. The cam gear should have a notch to line up with something on the block and the timing mark should be at zero. Close is close enough because there should not be a problem there.
