Belt replacement

96 vw passat wagon serpentine belt comes off from tensiner pully and it looks like something is missing. If anyone has any thing please let me know the car is on the side of the road. 150,000 mi. 2.8 vr6

There should be a diagram of how the belt goes on on the top of the hood when you open it up. Make sure the belt is on properly or they could continue to come off.

On a vr6 like that the only way that you can replace the belt is to pull the whole motor out trust me I already went throw this thats why vr6's are so hard to work on is becasue everytime you do something to then you will have to pull the motor and when u change the timing belt you will have to take the tranny off its a totaly pain!

Replacing volkswagen belt - https://www.2carpros.com/diagrams - requires a lot of time. be very careful in installing it, make sure its properly done. If you're not sure on how to do it i suggest that have someone help you with that to avoid problem. good luck :D
