2002 Volkswagen Jetta Glowplug light in diesel continuously

My glowplug light is continuously flashing! Now there does not seem to be any other problems with fluid of temp, no smells or knocking, or any-other noises. Just the continued flashing of the glowplug light indicator light which will go off for awhile and then come back on again. Any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the donation.

The glow plug indicator lamp has a dual function:

Blinking: malfunctions affecting handling are recognized. Stored malfunctions can be displayed via Scan Tool VAG1551/1552.

Permanently on when switching on the ignition: Normal function when starting a cold Diesel engine.

Get a scan done to find out what component is malfunctioning.
