Last week I took my car to a repair shop to change the gas filter, the mechanic told me that he could not change it because he needed an special tool \to do that, I took the car to another place and they told me that when he was trying to remove tha gas filter he broke the clamp and stripped the gas line, the car is working good but it does not has the clamp that holds the line that go to the front of the car, he didn;t remove the other part of the filter that is connected to the line that go to the gas tank, it is not liking gas until now but I would like to know if the gas filter could leak or have another problem since it doesn;t have one of the clamps

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

There is always a chance that if a clamp designed to hold a fuel line in place or locate a filter to a line is broken or damaged that there is a chance that a problem may occur done the road. It is the responsibility of the repairer to make good any problem that he creates and I would be taking it back and demanding that they do the correct thing, unfortunately if they refuse and you wish to take it further it may cost your more to prove your point then having it fixed correctly elsewhere.
